Put the drill down and step away from the rv!!

Hi guys,
Need you opinions. Installing a Weboost on a 2018 305RL High Country. Attaching the outside antenna to the ladder on the roof.
QUESTION: Where is the best place to drill a hole in the rv. It seems my options are: 1. Straight through the roof into the cabinet above the couch.
2. Run the cable down the back of the rv about a foot... run cable into
the cabinet above the couch
3. Attach the cable to the ladder and run it down the ladder and come up
from the bottom under the couch.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
J&C

Man, I'd be really leery about drilling into the roof if I could avoid it. I'm unfamiliar with the 305RL. Does it have the attic vents like our 3400? Would you be able to snake it down through the attic vent?

I too am not a fan of putting holes in the roof. Would it be possible to run it inside one of the ladder tubes?

I'd do a sidewall before I ever did the roof.

I would come up from underneath. Least likely to leak

This happened to me last week, just a side story we bought a class c and I’m fixing it up. This is going to Alaska next year, changing out the television’s.
I had 1 hole left to drill for blueray and sound bar wiring. Going up into a cabinet. Well I didn’t notice it had a false bottom and ran a 1” hole saw into a rats nest of wires.
Got real lucky and only wound 2 around the bit but they broke down from in the wall. Got lucky again as the 2 wires went straight down to 2 light switches.
Moral to this is double check and then check again cause ya never know.

I agree, NO unnecessary holes in the roof. I would not have an issue with a hole through the side wall as long as it is properly sealed up. I drilled 2- 6" holes for 2 speakers in our slide wall up high and a 3" hole down low for the remote marine controller to the stereo system I installed years ago. Siliconed the speakers and the controller in place. No issues.

We added a Weboost to our 3100RL this spring. Attached the antenna to the ladder, then ran the RG6 down the ladder inside the sheeting underneath, across the top of the basement (along the washer/drier PEC tubing. Followed the tubing through the existing hole into the right side of the front closet. Only hope drilled was to bring RG6 through the closet wall for cable connection. Used a standard cable connection wall plate to complete. Power plug-in was right there for the unit and distance met Weboost's 25 ft min. separation requirements. No problem with weak signal pushed to LR or even outside the rig - and no external holes drilled. My 2 cents.

If you use a cable entry plate (under $10 on Amazon) and self leveling lap sealant, there is no reason not to drill through the roof. It's easier to seal the roof than sidewalls, plus you don't see it.

UPDATE: Put the drill down
Bought a stud finder that detected wood, metal, and electric wires. Found a spot in the back wall about 24 inches below the roof that appeared to be free of any obstructions. Picked up the drill closed my eyes and drilled the hole. Perfect.
Ran the Weboost wire Allison well
Thanks again for all the advice and suggestions.
