Leak behind microwave.

We have water dripping in back of our microwave sometimes when it rains hard. We have caulked around the stove fan vent but it has not helped. We have a 2014 Montana 3625RE. If you have any suggestions please help.

That's a good one. I'd suggest looking on the outside and (if it's in a slide) the roof. Something's letting that water in and it's not your microwave. So, how did you find it in the first place?

Bob-- One question- was the wind blowing pretty hard when you noticed the water leak? It could have been coming in through the exhaust fan vent flapper. If it was not secured and or the flapper was stuck open even just a little the rain will some in through that vent and come down the wall or on to the stove top. I'd also check to see if the seal around the vent has dried out or separated from the sidewall of the unit also. As Walt mentioned, the roof of the slide can also be the problem. On our old unit I had to go up on the roof and remove the joint tape and replace it and then caulked along it just to make sure it was sealed well. Water is a funny thing and it will come in and run a long way before showing it's ugly face inside the unit. Let us know what or where you find where it is coming from.
Don't see your names on the Fall Rally list, maybe coming to the Rally and going through the 15 Minute Tech session will help!

If you work the metal inner flap by hand, I think you will find that it hangs up in a partially open position. Fix is to trim it some or eliminate where it hangs up. Wind can open it for rain to enter in some cases, especially if it hangs up, and the wind will free it so you won't know it is doing it. All I got for you. John

I have the same year and Model. Same problem. Took the outside vent cover off and removed all old caulk. It was not sealing. Then replaced with some good caulk and retightened and checked it next day and snugged it down. Also noticed a hairline crack underneath the flap. Put some clear silicone on it. No more problems. I had sealed around it 2 times but had to take off to fix. Good luck Joe. Also make sure the flap on the outside Is unlocked as the heat has to get out. Mine was locked shut.
