Galley drain

Just bought a 2010 Montana hickory edition.Having problem with the kitchen sink draining.Doesn't seem to be going into a tank. Directly into main drain. Drains very slowly.Backs up into the sink.

Check by the tires for a second tank valve. Galley sink generally drains to a separate tank than the bathroom. Several of us were unaware of the dual grey tank config.

As DavidAf states, I bet you have a third lever behind your tires on the frame rail. I went for two weeks trying to find why my galley tank stayed full, finally called Keystone, they walked me behind the tires had me bend down and sure nuf, its there.

Our 2010 had two gray tanks. As stated above, one in the convenience center, one under the frame

The pull handle for my galley tank is just in front of the driver side wheels.

You should find a 3rd valve coming through the frame in the vicinity of the drivers side tires either in front, in the middle or behind depending on model. Ours is just behind.

I have pulled off the front covering due to another problem exposing the black and grey tanks. Decided to drop one edge of the other panel to look inside. Could not see any other holding tanks nor any valve handles. The water in the galley does eventually go down. Evidentally it some how goes into the one tank. How I don't know. I guess I will have to call keystone

What model number is your 2010 Hickory? The number should be on a label by the entry door and say something like 3455SA, 3400RL, 3150RL, etc.

Like has already been said, there are two gray water tanks. Each has its own separate valve with pull handle. The galley tank (kitchen) handle is either right in front of the street side tires, or in between the two tires.

Perhaps the pull handle is missing from the valve's rod, and you just don't see where it is. My pull handle fell off somewhere on the road one time.

Your galley tank is full, and is probably either slowly leaking past the drain valve, or if you are really unlucky, leaking out of a cracked tank.

Here are some photos that show where our galley tank handle is. As Overloard stated it is possible that the handle has fallen off, but there should still be a hole in the frame.

Driver Side of rig

Back Slide on driver side

Our galley tank pull handle is located just under the back slide behind the rear tire on the driver side. It may be hard to see and you might have to get down on your knees to locate it. Once you know where it is it will be easy to "feel" for it in the future.

I hope this helps. I doubt on your model year (of which we have the same) that your galley does not have a separate tank.

As you can see ours is a 2010 hickory. We have two tanks and the drain for the second tank is just in front of the 1st street side tire.

Wow Jack, your galley dump handle is really hidden and way in on the frame. On our 2013 unit, the handle sticks out about five or more inches from the frame and on our 2004 unit it was between the tires and still stuck out some. Not easy to get to when slide was out but still further out than your unit!

Rondo,
You are correct about that, but now that we know where it is I just reach under and pull it. At least when we bought the rig the young man that did the PDI with us knew where it was and showed it to us. I have been at many parks where someone who owns a Montana has come over and had the same issue that ljginder is having and we have always been able to find the dump handle for them.

Thank you so much. The tank was so full it wouldn't hold any more. You were the first person to suggest under the back slide. Thanks

Thank you Jack. You are the first person pointing me in the right direction. I would have never looked under the rear slide. Thanks again

Glad you found it. I'll bet you will never forget where it is now.
