Electric water pump

We have a new 2015 Montana, we wanted to check our water pump tonight, here is what we did.
First, we had 1/3 tank of fresh water.
Two, we turned on the switch at the control panel.
Three, we heard the pump running.
Four, nothing???

I assume there is a simple solution, can one of you offer that please?

Thanks,

I am not sure but I thought you had to route the correct valving where your water hook up is. I think the dealer said if you don't route it correctly it just cycles back to tank or deadheads. Sorry I can't remember which.
Somebody with more experience will probably explain in better detail.
You might also check your owners manual, I won't guarantee it is covered in it but it might be.

You have air in your lines. Open the lower drains that stick out under the camper on the road side until water flows. Close the lines and wait to hear the pump shut off.

Make sure your tank fill valve is closed. If it's open, you'll just bepumping water out of yourm tank, through the pump and back to the tank.
