dimplex fireplace

our 14 Montana 3725rl has a dimplex fireplace with a thermostatic control. Is it normal for the fan to continue to run after the heat shuts off? It never shuts off unless the whole unit is shut off or the fan is shut off on the bottom of the unit. Dimplex says this is normal operation but it creates a cold draft! Do others work this way? Thanks

It's cooling down the heating coil before it shuts off. Your furnace does the same thing.

X2 on cooling down electric heating unit. If you turn down the thermostat all the way and turn on the unit, the fan should not be on...if you haven't used the fireplace lately or in the last half hour. If it does still run, then either there is a model that does this that most of us don't have OR the circuit board near the tstat has an issue. John

I would agree with running a short time after the heating element turns off to cool down. But running continuously when the heating element is off is either a malfunction, or a poor design. IMHO.

Ours is not a Dimplex but it does not do that.

Hi

Ours runs all the time the thing is turned on regardless of the thermostat position. We don’t find this to be an issue.
