Comfort control center wiring

We'll after many hours of troubleshooting the furnace/AC probs, I have narrowed it down to a bad control cable. I fingered I could just use the old cable as lead to pull the new one thru. We'll that cable don't budge and I' can't figure out away to run the new cable thru the ceiling. Any ideas?

That's going to be a real struggle. For short runs, I've used fish tape and dropped the light fixtures and vents, then went from one to the other as needed for my run. Getting down the wall will be a struggle as well. Sorry to be so "upbeat" on your issue.

Usually the wall, where the T-stat is mounted, is hollow. You can get a wire down to the floor/basement or possibly up to the ceiling through the T-stat hole. The use dieselguy's idea of fishing wire from light fixtures and vents.

Not to question your determination it is the wiring, however I wonder how you made that determination. I would assume you were able to do a continuity test on the wires.
If you have the new wire I might suggest you run it from the thermostat to the AC without hiding it just to confirm it solves the problem.
Won't be fun trying to run new wires but as has been suggested perhaps through the vents to the AC, the furnace should not be as big a problem as you should be able to come down the wall behind the thermostat and then through the basement.

Yes I have confirmed the cable is bad. I made a short jumper and all works. So that leaves fishing a new cable . That's the next project.
