Slide Out Seals Marking Slide Walls
The double seals on all our slides are leaving marks top to bottom when retracted. This has occurred since new. We are fulltimers and the slides are almost always extended. I can use something like goo-gone to remove the marks but they just reappear after retracting the slides and moving. I have inspected the seals and can find nothing out of the ordinary. They are just like new. Any ideas?

Ours are doing the same exact thing. Wondering if an application of the slide seal lube will help, will probably try next time out, never thought of using the lube on the double seals, but I would not think it would hurt?

Mine have done this on all 3 Montanas I've owned ... never could find a complete cure other than spraying silicone on them, then waxing the slide sides since they have no decals. The wax makes the dark lines come off much easier. The slides do vibrate somewhat while traveling down the road ... some slides are fitted tighter thus lesser black lines.

Thanks for the information. Our previous 2008 Montana 3400RL did not do this. Anybody else have input?

I found Aquanil-X, CroftgateUSA's waterless car wash works. Wipe seals with it, and haven't much problem with it since. Aquanil-X restores the rubber as well, and protects from weathering.
Sticker remover takes off the black streaks without rubbing, but don't let it get on the decals.

Perhaps they are alignment marks so the slides know what position to retun to!
Best I got folks!

Mine does the same thing. Our previous Montana did not do it. They come off easy enough but are fustrating. I tried slide seal lube on the seals but it didn't help at all.

Mine does the same thing. I cleaned mine off, waxed the side walls and then applied 303 to the seals. Couldn't tell it helped at all. My thought are if 303 won't fix it, live with it.

WD-40 takes the marks off really well. Will treat the seals with Ru-Glide and see if that helps with the marks returning.

Mine too, cleaned them off & used 303 of the gelcoat and seals (both seals & both sides), no luck. Going to try Aquanil-X next time. Guess this is a club. . . .
