There should be a label on the box that shows the positions of all connections and it should be easy to see where the room sensor comes into the 14x14 opening that the ac is positioned over and where it is installed. Freeze sensor can be seen stuck into the fins of the coil and should be easy to follow its lead down to where its plugged into. Good luck on your looking. it would not surprise me that the assembly line worker might plug in the wrong spot. And...a lot of people replacing the room sensor would just follow the wire and put the new one back where the old one was. John

Well it's been a couple of weeks. The tech came back to relocate the temp sensor, and it appears to be working now. This was before he started? So far the temp in the front bedroom is responding to changes in temp. Tech is convince the original problem was in the rear AC unit electronic board. Time will tell.
Thanks to all for the ideas/area to investigate. Now it's time to shut it down for the season
