Strange Antenna Problem

We have our antenna and booster in use for our local channels. They work fine...unless you turn on the bedroom ceiling light (or sometimes the bathroom light) and the tv goes to a message saying there is no signal. Any thoughts?

Are the lights LEDs?

The LED lights can effect the signal sometimes. It did the same thing to us in our previous Montana after I added LED lights in the bedroom.

We've had LEDs everywhere for almost three years with no problems at all. Don't use the antenna all the time, but it's worked fine when we did. They may have run the antenna cable somewhere near light fixtures during the build, and maybe they didn't with ours. I believe someone way back posted something about having to use some sort of RF isolator thing.

Some LED's use switching power supplies to make them very efficient but can interfere with tv/ radio. A lot of LED's just use a resister to limit the current but waste some power but they don't interfere with tv/ radio. All LED's must use one or the other or they will burn up.

That was one of reasons many of us bought LED's from Micheal and Kat. They researched the bulbs they sold and only sold bulbs that didn't interfere.

Yes, they are LED factory installed. This is the first time we have tried to use the antenna because we generally use our DirectTV but we are too far out of our home area to get local stations. Hard to say if it's where it's wired or maybe the bulbs but I'd be willing to try changing the bulbs if this is something I could buy from 'Michael and Kat' if someone has information on them.

They stopped selling them. I had to get some of ours from Amazon, but none have interfered with the antenna.

Our LED's in previous rig were from Mike & Kat and they also affected the TV.

Linemans2ndHome: if you have Direct TV and have the "Protection Plan" just call them when you move out of the area and talk with Technical Support. Tell them that you moved locations and they can change your set-up to get the local channels in your current new area. Just advice them to change your "Service Address" and not your "Billing Address". We do this all the time when we travel across the country and it is a free service if you have the Protection Plan.

I had a similar problem when our unit was new. Bathroom light, not led, effected the front room television as did the bathroom exhaust fan. I changed every coax connector on the antenna service with good compression ends. Eliminated 99% of our issues. The fan will still cause a little pix-elation from time to time but not often. Seems to be when we are on the fringe of coverage.

PackerFan- we are about 2 1/2 hours from home and go home a lot of weekends so we don't want to change it, I thought it strange that we couldn't get the correct satellite tuning here to get our locals because we are so close but it must be just on the border. We show good numbers when checking signal strength but still don't get locals.

Maybe will try changing the fittings and see if that helps.
