stove vent with convection oven- microwave

We were at a state park without electric using a generator to recharge the batteries. We were outside the allowed time to run the generator and started the stove and the vent fan wouldn't run. Guess the fan only runs on 120 volts ac and not the typical 12 volts DC that microwavesuse. Has anyone else had this experience? I have sent an inquire to Keystone and asked dealer about this safety concern.

The fan is part of the microwave and both use 120vac to operate. There has never been a microwave appliance that runs on 12vdc as it would take more than 100 amps of 12vdc power to run it. I have seen regular vent hoods in regular trailers that have 12vdc fans installed in them, but have never seen this in a montana. Best you can do when using the stove and not connected to 120vac power is to use the vent fan in the ceiling. Hope this helps you. John

Thanks John, that is what is probably the best solution. Our pervious units did have the stove hood vent and I just thought it was part of the microwave. Thanks for the response. Dennis

Ours have a vent, but as said it's 120v.
