2015 3711; grey tank question

just wrapped up maiden voyage with a new 3711; couple topics on the grey system

the black / grey labels were flipped around; not a big issue but disappointing

Compared to our previous rig (3950 cyclone) the montana has greater grey/black capacities but the shower tank fills up significantly sooner. My assumption is that the grey capacity is evenly split between the kitchen sink and the shower.

Does anyone know the size of the two grey tanks? All I can find is that their total capacity is 93 gallons.

Does anyone use a slice valve at the dump cap location to equalize the grey water between the grey tanks? So you can have greater grey capacity? Or is there a mod I can do so that the grey water flows between the tanks automatically?

Basically I'm looking for a way to extend the volume of my shower capacity.

I noticed the grey tanks filled quickly as well. I do not think putting a valve at the dump connection would work well because the galley tank has a smaller diameter pipe and it runs uphill to the galley tank. It may work, but I do not think it would equalize. If you do come up with a good solution, please share.

We have a 3160 that has two gray tanks, one for the galley and one for the shower. The drop frame design of the Montatnas result in the shower tank being lower than the galley tank by the thickness of the frame (10"). As a result, any water in the galley tank would flow to and fill/overfill the shower tank. You would have to make sure to close the valves once the shower tank was full. Since you stated the shower fills first, I don't think valving the tanks together is going to help.

If both tank were on the same level it would work, but I don't think they are.

Does anyone else see this as a problem, or am I just not thinking right?

And if you are relying on the oem tank monitor for tank levels, forget about knowing anything. They aren't effective, are wrong most times, and were a waste of time to install by factory...think cheap, real cheap. John

The tank for the shower is lower but the shower floor is higher then the kitchen floor. So the shower tank will fill first then the kitchen tank then the shower floor.

If you are at a full hook up site just leave the valves open

our issue is that we spend a fair amount of days at locations without sewer hook ups (atv'ing and full hook ups not always inline with each other
