Whirlwind 72 hours

Wow, Thursday night, 6:00 PM, to the hospital with the pain of a kidney stone, confirmed by X-ray. 7:00 PM prayer chain activated by 8:00 PM all pain gone--good night's sleep. Friday 8:00 AM, pain returned--shot of pain killer (first one). 10:30 AM--ultrasound bombardment of the stone. I was out during the procedure. Awaken about every two hours because they were pushing fluids with IV, but still slept well. Saturday 9:00 AM--X-ray could find no stone. 11:00 AM discharged. 2:30 PM-- in committee meeting, alert and comfortable. Will preach tomorrow and then baptize 8 candidates. God is good.

Stiles,
God is indeed good. It is wonderful when we can combine His power with modern medicine to heal us. I've had kidney stones and know how painful it is. So glad you are well to day.
Happy trails.....................

Had one myself about 15 years ago. Carried it around for a week before it passed. Funniest part, I was in a deposition for three of those days. Everyonce in the while I'd have to head for the bathroom carrying my trusty funnel leaving ten or twelve high paid lawyers adding up hours until I got back. It was just before Christmas and they all wanted to catch planes home. Even with the pain it made me chuckle. Glad I wasn't paying for that part.

Know what that pain is like.I was plagued with kidney stones for many years. The pain is indescribable. It is obvious that you passed the stone. It was no doubt so small that it could not be seen but still was that painful. x ray will not always see the small ones and the chances are high that where there is one there is another...Water, drink lots and lots of water.I finally went to the Cleveland Clinc and they vaporized them via ultra sound.Had only one attack since then and it was MINOR(right) like yours... Water, Water, Water...

Stiles, I'm glad to hear you came through this well. I hope I never go through what you did. I do not do pain well.

8 baptisms.... sounds like SOMEONE is busy in your church Stiles!! PTL that you are better in time for all that water.
We got to see 2 come to the surface with the glow yesterday in the church we found to attend while we are here... it always makes me so happy to see another join the body.

What a fantastic day!! Only seven candidates were in attendance. The other was called out of town. On adult was from another belief system and his name indicated that group. So he asked me to rename him. I felt like a father naming a new child of the faith, a 47 year-old child. I named him for two prominant Biblical characters. He was so excited.

With a very big smile on her face, a chinese lady said, "Why did I wait so long. I am so happy." The church is in a multi-story office building with no baptistry. So we used to swimming pool on the 29th floor. It is an outdoor pool, overlooking Aberdeen and Southeast to Deep Water Bay. It was a beautiful sunny day for a beautiful Sonny event. How could I not feel great.

What a wonderful place for a baptism. God bless you and the work that you are doing. Hubby has had two rounds with the kidney stones, he found out that Tums was causing a calcium build up in his system.

What a day of celebration, Stiles. You must be having a wonderful ministry there. When do you return to the US?
