Rear Jacks raised
Can I raise the rear Jack's up for more ground clearance? I have level up 6 jacks, a lot of times the rear Jack's touch the ground, they are sitting to low when they are raised the whole way up. I have 4 more holes so I was thinking to raise them, but would like your advice before doing it.
Has anybody else raised them?

I hooked my rear curbside jack on a curb a while back. The shoe plate bent and the mounting bracket bent - no bend in the jack itself...no leaks or apparent damage to the Jack. I managed to get everything back close to plumb and in line plus I raised up the rear 4 jacks by one hole. I added a 2x6 under each shoe plate when I set up so that the jack effectively hits the ground in the same elevation as before I raised them up. I have had a few close calls since but I am glad I raised them up.

Torque specs are in the MyLCI app download from Google play store. Look for
"Hydraulic jack mounting bolt specs"

Raise them. Bending a jack will cost you $400. IFRC, I raised my rear and center jacks two holes and my front jacks one hole. Super easy, especially if you have an air impact wrench. I carry plastic leveling blocks to take up for the extra amount the jack's extend; unit feels more stable if jack's are not extended so far.

I looked at raising my middle and back jacks on our 3741FK, and I couldn't raise the middle one. There is a some slide out mechanism stuff there that won't allow it to be raised any.
I need to take a close look at my front and rear, though. It would be nice to get them higher off the ground. I'm surprised that they put them that close to the ground to begin with...

There are no “jack” police. I raised my front ones a hole after tearing one off in Alaska.

Just remember to bring an extra block for each jack if you plan to raise them on account you don't want the jacks extended so far as to have the rv unstable.

Raising the Jack's seems straight forward. My question is how level is your rig when you tow it. Should you be looking at lowering the front? How tall is your highest point on top of your rig?

There should be no problem with repositioning the holes.

I understand the need to raise the front 2 but not the back 4. They are close enough to the axles (tires) that they should not hit anything if you stay on the improved road surface and don't make turns too sharply hitting curbs, boulders, etc. Backing in to a sharp incline is an exception.

Bang!
I raised all four of my rear jacks after I cut a corner too tight (see pic below).
At the Cracker Barrel Waco (north) my curbside rear jack hit that curb. I was turning into the driveway WIDE to avoid the curb and a nimrod in baby toyota truck (green arrow) came racing up out of the parking lot to meet me. He should have stopped and let me continue wide but he didn't. I suppose I could have stopped - but there was several cars right on my arse. I had to quickly correct to avoid hitting him, and when I corrected, the rear jack clipped the curb and bent. I raised all four jacks by one hole, and they now clear a standard ht. curb even if I cut a tight corner (I have watched it in my mirror).

The back side of the nuts have locking serations which make it difficult to loosen them. You need to loosen the fastener via the bolt.
Agree that the rear one need to be raised, I have seen them contact speed bumps. Ensure when raising them that the hoses are not rubbing against anything sharp.

I think that the real question that no one has asked is: Why does Keystone put them so darn low to begin with? I realize that the cylinder has a fixed stroke, but dang, they are too low, generally speaking...

I raised ours after bending the foot pad on one rear leaving a sloped camp site. I raised the rear two holes and the center one hole, left the front alone. I now use the Anderson magnetic blocks to level and that keeps the extension to a minimum eliminating almost any rocking once set up.
