Anderson Hitch with Road King pin box

We tow a 2018 3130 RE with an Anderson ultimate gooseneck adapted hitch. Has anyone else who uses this set up “reversed” the king pin adapter to bring the pin box forward in the bed? I tow with a long bed and with the adapter “forward” it really puts the center weight further back in the bed than what seems normal. Just a thought if anyone has done this. Thanks

the long part of the hitch should be facing forward so the ball is over the axle. thats how they installed mine and explained it to me.

When we got the long bed dually in October I reversed mine to bring weight forward. In December we made trip to Ft Wilderness almost 1,300 miles round trip with no problems. Plenty of clearance with cab & towed like a dream.

Thanks. I am going to reverse the adapter which brings the whole coach 8” closer to cab but still seems like plenty of room with the long bed.👍 It looks more centered that way.

So with a long bed what way do you guys recommend? I was told the long end to face the cab. Should it be the other way around?

Depends on what you mean by “long end”? I’m only talking about the king pin adapter direction. The attachment to the hitch will be behind the king pin now instead of in front like the dealer originally installed mine. I’m doing nothing to the Anderson hitch in the bed.
