Need Info on Medicare Supplement!!

Finally getting to that point where I need to ask this question ....

1) What does everyone use for their Medicare Supplement?

2) Do we/should we use "Part B" or something else?

Reality is finally catching up with us!!

We use Medicare/Humana for our Part B Supplement with Drug Coverage and it is a PPO so We can go to any doctor or hospital we choose around the Country and it has worked great for us and my wife had to go to the Hospital a while ago and the bill was 17K to Humana/Medicare but our bill came to only 169 bucks In Wash state it costs us 200 bucks each a month out of our SS check but well worth it,Do not know about Tennessee but that's what it costs Up here

We use our Employer provided BC/BS PPO. Medicare is primary and BC/BS picks up the rest and the prescriptions. We of course had a employer provided plan that we could carry over into retirement. In 2016 BC/BS since the wife was not yet on Medicare picked up all 3300.00 0n a 65 K plus bills. If she had been on Medicare it would have been zero. My medical bills since I am on Medicare have always been zero.

We have Medicare A & B and BC/BS plan F. Not the cheapest plan, but we also almost never have to pay anything out of pocket no matter what the procedures cost. Routine doctor visits, specialists visits, diagnostic tests, lab work, even a trip to ER and overnight stay in ICU = $0.00 out of pocket.

Keep in mind their two major choices Medicare + a supplement or A Medicare Advantage Plan with choice of HMO PPO All major insurance company's sell both Advantage Plans and Suppliments. My best advice I csn give you is contact a insurance rep in your area in many cases they represent a lot of Insurance Companys in our case our Rep all major Companys other then BC BS.
They will come to your house homeand discuss your needs and compare plans

In addition during Medicare's annual enrollment period in the fall. Insurance Companys sponsor seminars in your erea a good way to ask questions and educate yourself.

PackerFan: Tricare is for veterans only. One thing to remember about the Medicare supplement plans (we use Plan F), the features of each plan are the same, no matter which company you choose; the only difference is cost. We do ours through State Farm, even though it is slightly more expensive, because we do all out insurance through our local agent.

NC state retirement plan through United Health Care Medicare solutions followed by TFL. State plan also has RX coverage.
