Had a string of American flag lights I'd hang up every time on our old Mountaineer 5er. But that awning was on the back end of the rig, so it was easy to reach with only a step stool. Plus it was the old style manual awning that I could tilt and also secure to tie down stakes and use deflappers - it could withstand a gale force! I hate my new front mounted electric awning - pretty usless IMO and too hard to reach to put lights on. I've gone to a single strand of rope lights to provide a bit of light for safety.
