Moving to SOB

I regret to inform the forum membership that we have decided to trade our Montana in on an SOB. We really wanted to stay with the Montana but interiors and floor plans just did not work for us. At least with our new unit we were able to select interior colors and wood types.

If it is alright with the group we will continue to follow the forum and add our experience where applicable. We will also look at attending those regional rallies that do not exclude SOBs when we find one near us.

Hate to see you go to a SOB but understand completely being able to have more choices. Be sure to stay with us here and join in.

It seems that Montana is losing its ability to keep owners. We have always purchased what was best for us no matter the brand. Montana has met those requirements in two Montana units. They are falling behind.

Happy rv'ing! Enjoy the fulltime life. Those are the important things. What we do it in is what happened to fit and work at purchase time and how they work into the future. John

After owning 3 Montana's a 2003, 2006, and 2010 we switched to SOB in 2013 (Landmark) and it did not take long to switch back to a Montana in 2015.

I can see moving back to Montana from a Landmark. We looked at that brand and did not like the lack of cargo carrying capacity. All of the new Montanas have large cargo capacities but we do not like the interiors or lack of choices.

Not asking the brand, but can you enlighten us on some of the reasons for the change?, floor plan, storage, etc?

Just curious as we did a lot of looking this year and Montana was the choice.

Either way, best of luck and enjoy!

Was also the reason we moved to a SOB. We are 2 foot shorter but have tons of more space and a bigger basement area.

We were ready to move to a new unit. We had put 71,000+ miles on our 2009 and it was starting to nickel and dime us. We started looking about a year ago and were considering a Big Sky but they stopped building them plus we could not specify interior colors or wood styles. We fulltime and since it is going to be our home we wanted to get it just the way we wanted. I would say both floor plan and interior was the thing that drove us to an SOB. Our new unit is very similar to a Montana 3721RL but the wood is a lighter shade, the island is made of nicer wood. We have carpet where we want carpet and lighter color flooring elsewhere.
