A Tad Brisk out this Morning

I know some are waking up to worse, but it was -3F actual air temp when I got up to go to work this morning. That's pretty darned COLD for the Wichita area no matter how you slice it. Whoever invented block heaters has my praise ... the VW diesel fired right up with instant cabin heat.

Hey Dieselguy! Do you think you could shut that gap? The north wind down here in S. Texas is getting nasty

High today in New Mexico where we are is only supposed to be around freezing. 60 again by Tuesday, however.

Not nearly what you are dealing with. But we went from 78 degrees and T shirts about 1 pm yesterday to 17 degrees, high winds, and heavy coats this morning. A drop of 61 degrees.

My take away from the OP was "I got up to go to work".
Being retired twice, I don't have that "problem".

Last night it was -29C (-20.2F) It's now -12C (10.4F) wind chill of -20C or -4F and warming up to -1C (30.2F) on Thursday. A heat wave for us.

Well sounds like we were colder than some and warmer than others. The official reading according to the paper was -8 and everything was covered with frost. The chainlink fence looked kinda cool with really small diamond shapes due to all the frost and the trees all looked like somebody went crazy with a can of flocking. Rivers are starting to freeze up and if this keeps up we should start having some flooding issues. Luckily we are supposed to warm up a bit but it is also supposed to rain which could cause major melting of the snow and we could have a real mess.

All that must be pushing to the far south. Weatherman assured us last night that a cold front would be coming our way Wednesday through Friday when temps were to dip down into the low 80's. But I did just check my freezer and it was 0 inside.

When people call the shop and I know it's cold where the are and it's warm here I ask the about their weather. They will tell me about their miserable weather then I tell them it's cold here "it's only supposed to get up to 70 or whatever here but the sun is shining with no wind but it's supposed to be nice tomorrow". That sounds like this thread.
