Rich, I also read that post by MIMF@. Repalced my little 30 amper wioth two 40's for the slides and all worked well again.

Any reputable electrician would never double the size of a fuse designed for a circuit. The fuse size is determined by the circuit design and the size wire used to supply that circuit. Doubling the fuse size could burn the supply wire.
