Where do I get that tape ????
Ok I know I have seen the topic in the forun but I sure cant find it so please help me. Here goes.
Last time out G & I were camping in Banning CA. area the last two weeks, we incountered a lot of rain realy heavy, it also made the news, tornado's, wind, hail, and lots of rain. while it was raining I did a walk-about the inside to look for leaks, main slide OK, kitchen slide OK, bed room slide??................OH!!!!! got a leak, at the outer seam where they use what looks like a thin plastic tape about 3 or 3.5 inches wide, it goes the length of the slide and lips over the corners about 3/4 to 1 inch. it seems to cover the screws or where the stop lip conects to the slide.
Wher can I get some of this tape any help will be appreaceated.
Thanks Don.

Don, I've used that tape for several years. In fact, I carry an extra roll with me all the time and have helped many RVers with their leaks. I used to buy it at CW unti I found www.bestmaterials.com where the price is much less than CW and they ship it right to you. It would pay you to get a roll to have with you. You never know when a "tree branch" is going to jump out and scrape the side of your roof (like it did ours one time) and put 3 or 4 bad spots which need to be covered.

Thanks for the info on the tape everybody, a quick question, I noticed that a roller must be used to activate the tape properly they look just like a wallpaper seam roller, also seing that this stuff is 6 inches wide it should cover up the old tape that is attached to the rubber roof, so all I should have to remove id the part that is lifting covering the screws. Right?

I've never had to do anything to "activate" the tape. After I clean the area where I want the tape to be put down (clean with rubbing alcohol), I start removing the paper that is on the sticky side of the tape and start putting it down. A word of warning: Know where you want to put the tape because you can't remove it once it is stuck. It really sticks. I use the four-inch tape. It's a lot handier. Are you and I talking about the same type of tape? I use Eternabond tape which I purchase from Best Materials. See at www.bestmaterials.com

Just in case you get caught out some place without a roll, you can pick it up at most camper supply stores. You do have to pay a PRICE for it though. I got caught in Kentucky one time, as a low tree branch wanted to be in my way.... Ochy....JB

Do you use the 4" white x 50'? Also, the young lady in the advertisements isn't why you buy from best materials, is it?

Yes, that's what I buy. And no, I have never even noticed the advertisement. Someone had told me about Best Materials so I just went there and bought the tape. The firs roll I ever bought was from CW and at that time it was double the price of BM.
