Road Conditions

I got the bright idea of looking up road conditions. Largely for knowing what is in front of me before I go through Cloudcroft NM. I typed in a search and sure enough there were plenty of "free" sites. Not being a newbe to the internet FREE means I dont have to send them money in the form of currency, but I do pay in the form of privacy invasion. So the question is what services do you use that is least intrusive and yet informative?

Do a search for the state you are in and check the DOT report if they have one. I used to use this in SD,MN,NE,WY all the time. Sometimes you can reach the report using your cell phone also. Can't remember the number off hand but it is was a very good report when I called the few times I used it.

Oklahoma is clear through this coming Saturday. You can look up Oklahoma Department of Transportation or Oklahoma Department of Public Safety for current conditions.

To reply to my own post, I use Intellicast a lot for my weather. I explored the site a bit more and sure enough there is a driving tab, click on it and a United States map comes up. Click on the state you want and it takes you to that states DOT. Thanks for the replies.

Oregon has web cams on the mountain passes and scattered at other locations throughout the state. You can see road conditions as well as read what's in store.
