Campground in Destin area

Anyone have suggestions for campground in the Destin, FL area or anywhere along the Panhandle with good monthly rates. Camp Gulf looks nice. We would like to be within walking distance of beach and fairly close for groceries and a Walgreens for med refills.
We plan on staying December, January and February. Has anyone ever rented a site from a private owner in a private resort?

Thanks for any suggestions. We have waited a little late to make reservations because of health issues. We weren't sure we could go.

We have stayed at Camp Gulf for 2 weeks the past 2 September's, and are getting ready to go down for,2 weeks here in about 11 days. It is a real nice park, and the staff are super friendly. Can't get much closer to the beach, it's right on it.

I would stay away for the next few days with the storm blowing through.

Henderson Beach State park is nice. You almost have to make reservations a year in advance

We spent last January at Emerald Beach in Navarre and really enjoyed it.

Keep in mind the state parks have a two week maximum stay per site.

Thank everyone for suggestions. I am spoiled by the discounts senior get at Corp parks. I don't see any discounts at FL state parks unless a FL resident.
I found an available site at Panama City beach Rv resort so might try that.
I agree with problem of having to move every two weeks. Once I get settled , I like to stay at least a month. When I started this lifestyle, I thought I wanted to travel all over but I have changed my mind , like to get camper set up then just travel around area in truck.

If you stay Dec Jan and Feb in Camp Gulf you may get a good rate for the three months. Other than that it is pricey, but may be worth it. It looks pretty. I have not stayed there. I have stayed west of there in Pensacola Beach at Fort Pickens. Lots of bang for the buck, especially if you qualify for the Senior Pass (They will gladly sell you one. You get 1/2 off.) Pensacola Beach has great swimming just down the road and watch the Blue Angels practicing their air show while your standing waist deep on the surf 3 times a week. Of course, great restaurants and more.

Camp gulf didn't have any vacancy for an extended stay. We finally settled on a privately owned site in a small private gated community near Miramar. We will be there Jan-March. Looks nice and close to lots of shopping restaurants and the beach. Thanks for the suggestions
