I've always done it and haven't went thru yet I just don't stand right in the middle of the main slide just for good measure ... they sag on their own quick enough.

I don't think I would. I just don't think from what I saw at the factory that the top of the slides are supported or designed to hold any weight. Be kinda like stepping on 3/4 plywood with nothing under to support.

Besides, unless things have drastically changed, the slides do not have rubber roofs. The upper seals can be reached from the main roof provided you do not have slide toppers. I treat the seals annually with a spray on-wipe off conditioner and use a step ladder to facilitate the process.

The material on our slide tops appears to be the same as that on the roof of our Montana...but appearances can be deceiving.

That is interesting regarding the slide tops?? Wonder if having factory installed slide toppers make any difference. I know that our 2007 3400 slide tops were the same material as the slide sides (fiberglass, filon, whatever the heck it is), and assumed the new rig was the same??? will have to wait until Thanksgiving to give it a look see. We have always had the slide toppers, so cleaning was never an issue. Chip in MOCers, inquiring minds want to know??? Another opportunity to learn something presents itself!!

Bingo, I may have confused the matter...I was referring to the "roof" of the slide appearing to have the same material on it as we have on the roof of our Montana. The "topper" material is a material the same (?) as our awning.

The roof itself of the slide, not the slide topper is what I was referencing as well. Still curious whether things changed in the last couple of years, I will definitely be checking ours on the new rig in a couple of weeks.

Replying to the roof material on the slides of our fivers ... I've owned 3 Montanas since 2000 ... all have had the same rubber membrane as the main roof has.

Thanks all for your input!
Our Montana is a 09 10th Anniversary 3400 RL, the sildes tops are the rubber material as the main roof. I do not stand up right i use a large sponge on my hands and knees.
