Big problem became small stuff

I have been dealing with what I thought was a holding tank leak for a couple of months. We were trying to move from Texas to North Carolina by way of my dealer in Grain valley, MO. So after repairs to the suspension, I took it to the dealer. I feared a broken tank, black or gray. I suspected gray because there was no putrid smell.

Great news! There is no tank break! There is no water leak! Even though it was wet when they opened it up, It was dry this morning after filling all three tanks to the brim and leaving them full all night. They also pressured the water system and left it pressured all night. No water system leaks. I was envisioning major repair costs. What a relief. They only problem is that the leak mystery is unsolved. It simply disappeared. We will be on the road again tomorrow for North Carolina.

I am also grateful for our friends and fellow MOC RVers, Bruce and Janette Lenhardt, for helping get the rig to the shop and opening their home to us for a couple of days while the rig was being repaired. Bruce and Janette are gracious folks. To us, they are worthy of the MOCer of the Year Award.

Stiles, just a thought about a leak we had in the drain pipe tee joint between the shower and the grey tank that only leaked when the tank was full and water was standing in the shower. The factory person that was supposed to put the glue all the way around the pipe only got it 2/3 a round. The only time it leaked was when there was standing water in the pipe at max capacity and ankle deep in the shower. $12 for plumbing supplies and my labor fixed this leak. This was my first adventure at repairing the Monty that turned out well. Hope you find it to be a small issue.

I like it when things we think are bad, turn out less than expected. Our minds have a tendency to always think the worst. Glad it worked out well for you. I was wondering though about the water, could it actually be from sweating? With all of this cooler weather now and using the furnace is it possible for things to be sweating underneath?

Bill, I had too much water for sweating. The weather was also hot and very low humidity. The only thing they found was that overflow from the fresh water outside fill overflow port would run down the side and collect in the rear belly pan. Unless I had a partially opened valve in the convenience center that would gradually and slowly fill the FW tank, I can't see how that caused the problem.

I had a mystery leak also and I found that the leak was when the faucet was being used with water running. There was a hole somewhere in the faucet. Replaced the faucet and problem solved.
