Hi Ozz, I posted them sometime ago...

Previous post was of a snap switch...those are self resetting, trips at a predesigned temp and will automatically close when temp drops below trip zone.

This "kit" is intended to "box" the hazard in metal so install puts metal underneath, across back, around burner and across the front.

There is a flame fuse that gets added as well to the propane solenoid actuation signal loop in series with that snap switch.
-Snap switch monitors the Tube temperature and serves to shut propane if too hot.
- Flame fuse sits in path so if fire comes out of Tube it shuts propane supply. (you can see it in previous rogue posted pic in that hook on back added plate).

On edit...I believe that (same rogue after pic with cover off) extra shielding that gets added if not done delicately disturbs the electric element and can generate premature failure...its a bear to get inserted, I did it on my unit and tried to be very gentle.

**Should you need more info I have the install manual...I will have to dig it out as I think its buired in my basement.

Just to complete the gallery, here are some pictures of a failed fridge boiler. The yellow deposit of zinc chromate is a sure sign of a failure. http://tiny.cc/xDlhw

Great info, guys. I will call over to my dealer and see if they will get me a kit in the mail. John Hogan has one for me, but he is not in Kansas anymore, he is now a Texan for a month or so.
Thanks again.

I'm gonna repeat what I said in my previous post. This thing seems to get really hot now that I've had the "fix" done. It seems like it restricts air flow too much. Maybe holding in the heat is a good thing, after all the point is to get it hot in the first place. I don't know, but it sure seems like the plastic vent cover is exceptionally warm now! Anyone else noticed this? Is this normal and I just never noticed before?

Hmmm, I don't recall mine getting warm to the touch. Of course now the weather is so cool out it is not going help in determining if your observation is unique.
