Awesome

I've seen many people here talk about using Awesome to remove black marks. I bought a bottle from the Dollor Store and tried it. It did work well however I found it smearing white stuff over the area I was working on. Obviously it was paint. Is this an issue others have noticed and should I be concerned?

Assuming you're talking about the side of your camper ... there is no paint, just filon (fiberglass)skin. I'd venture to guess it was talking the oxidation off the filon as well as the black streaks

I have always found that Fantastic is very good at removing black streaks without removing wax. If really stubborn, a little wax does the rest. Sounds like awesome also takes off any wax or polish applied to the fiver as well as the black streaks.

Awesome is a great stain and dirt remover but you do have to be careful, it will take off layers of old paint and will leave streaks. But guaranteed it will remove stains, powerful stuff for a buck.

Did you dilute the Awesome as directed on the bottle? It's pretty strong stuff undiluted..

awesome is a great product. I have used it for many things. Simple Green is another great product. I set some in a Dixie cup and it leaked through the wax sealant. Bleach diluted works on black streaks also.
Any of these cleaners will remove the surface coatings if left long enough.

Black Streaks have always been a problem to say the least.

I had a tree hurt my camper back in the North East Snowtober (October snow storm). Local repair facility gave me the option of Dicor Rubber Roofing or a new ...
Plastic roofing Material. (claim to fame NO More Black Streaks)
Insurance was paying and I just had a deductible to copay. My original factory warranty is long gone.

Well I have to say I haven't seen a Black Streak in a few months.

I'll start a new thread on what I know about it soon. I don't have all the details here right now. But it makes a difference from what I can see so far.

Best of luck to you and happy travels.

I started out using it right out of the bottle, and after seeing the white streaks, I started diluting it half and half. Still am getting white on my towel and in the rinse buchet from both the sides and the front, and yes it removed teh wax. The front bubble was really dull when I finished. After rinsing real good I used a cleaner/wax to get wax back on and clean off any remaining Awesome residue. It looks real good but I don't know what damage I did. If it was just oxidation, I'm relieved!
