fridge freezes

All of a sudden the fridge freezes everything checked the thermister and it shows 490 ohms when cold instead of the 1120 some books say, when heated it goes down to 200 ohms... has any one had a similar problem with there fridge was it the thermister or the control board??? Have already tried moving the thermister around on the cooling fin...

We have had to replace the thermister at least three times over the course of years with different Travel Trailers and 5th wheels. The symptom of freezing and not being able to control the temp is most indicative of a thermister problem. Many RV dealers have the thermisters in stock for about 12 to 15 dollars. I replaced the last two (both in Dometic fridges) myself, just using the wire of the old thermister to pull the new one through. The if the thermister is bad, it doesn't allow the control board to cycle the unit.

ditto to what Karl said. it cost about $13 for us, and it was fixed by my handy DH in the same manner.
