Sploggers - GRRRRRRRRRR

As some of you know, I took up blogging last April. OK, I am hooked, and you cannot shut me up, there, the admission is out.

Anyway - - there is something called Splogging, which I am disgusted to say, I am having to learn about. SIGH GRRR

Splogging, if I understand it correctly, is where someone (some idiot in my lowly opinion) links to your blogs, but the links go to their site. They want to run up "hit" numbers.

OK, I really don't totally understand it, but, I do know this, it is a form of theft.

There is a guy that cannot be traced that has been "borrowing" my posts. I had a dude that knows ALL about this stuff tell me this guy is untraceable, so, we left snarly little notes, asking him to cease this linking stuff.

The jerk (I have to clean up my language here) has the nerve to require comments to be approved, but steals links and contents.

Now, the reason I am posting here is because, he is somehow pushing RV stuff.

his site is:

http://rvsandmotorhomes.reviews-online-blog.com/

So, I guess this is a warning of sorts, if you are doing business with this guy somehow (I have NO idea how you could as there is NO contact method/information to be found), well, you might want to re-think it.

If I ever figure out just what this all means, except that I have been assured this dude is up to no good, I'll let cha all know.

Thanks for the warning. What a shame that your posts are being stolen (you were too nice using the word "borrowed"). I love reading your blog. If you find a way to stop his splogging, please post it down the line. There are many bloggers on the MOC board, and it would be a shame if spoggers started spoiling everyone's fun.

Isn't the blog sponsored by another website/domain? If so, couldn't you contact the domain and report the splogger or at least maybe they can suggest your next point of action.

This is why I have gotten into texting, blogging, tweeting, facebooking, myspacing or anything that creates more ways to mess me up. Yes, I am not having as much fun as most who are working within the system, but with my email account as old as it is, I have enough trouble with SPAM, worms and viruses.

Nothing like a high-tech love/hate relationship. Carol, I hope you keep us posted as you splat this splogger.

His reason for linking is dollar driven. The more hits he gets, the more attractive his site is becomes to potential advertisers. So by posting his site, you've actually done him a favor.

Ain't the internet grand?

Tom, IF you clicked, you probably paid him, yep, but, you don't have to click, just make note of the URL of the creep.

Art, this guy is UNTRACEABLE!! My friend who really knows this stuff says this dude has REALLY covered his tracks.

There is ANOTHER creep that did this to me (yep, two of em, sighhhh), and my friend GOT his domain and a lot more. I got online live with the domain and reported my situation, they said, okkk, write to their abuse email address, what you get back is a long bunch of legalease mumbo jumbo pile of CRUD (yes, she said crud, it is better than the word she would like to use - fill in word of your choice - grr). Basically, they make it about impossible for you to proceed with a complaint because they start using the words YOUR attorney, etc. Then, they have the nerve to say on the live chat that they will get him IF they can catch him in the act. Well MORE CRUD, I gave them the links, I caught him, DUHHHHH

My friend says that these sites usually disappear in a few months.

Still learning, there is a way to leave comments out on Google search that these links lead to sploggers. Guess what ole Carol did last night?

Maybe you could have your friend link him to the FBI, CIA and Home Land Security. And if you want to get really nasty, add the KGB and Mossad.

Larry,

I AM a nice person, you know that. Fury, ya, I have been known to have some. Others politely call it other things! HA HA

"splogger-splatterer" That has a nice ring to it. Ya, like that! I just may borrow that term for my blog, have been contemplating a post about this silliness.

Tom, good suggestions! Keep em coming!!
