Turned in my retirement notice today

I will be unemployed as of January 15th. after 47 years of working. I have been very much blessed to have only been laid off once in this period back in 1970 and then only for 2 months. A lot of very fine hard working folks out in todays work force are just are not finding that kind of stability.

So Ms. Barbara is already asking when will I find another job. Any body know of any one looking for a part time worker who likes to take off fishing or camping at the drop of a hat. That's what my new resume is going say. Will work hard when I show up. Actually I am just kidding about that part.

We've found out there is only one problem with retirement--- You never know when your next day off is! Good luck on your upcoming retirement and hope to see you at some of the MOC Rallies around this great Nation of ours in the future! In fact, come join us at the CPRR(Central Plains Regional Rally)come this next July here in Nebraska.

Retirement is a Tough Job, but somebody has to do it. We're not into the Fishing part, but if Friends call and ask if we want to go camping somewhere, we just answer that we'll be right there.

Congratulations on retirement. If you aren't joking about looking for a part time job where fishing and working and living in the great outdoors is the gig go to volunteer.gov and survey the opportunities. That's what we did and the places we work have mother nature right out our rigs windows.

We are 13 years into retirement and it is the best job we ever had. We keep busy by working at Disneyworld part time during the winter months because we choose to not because we need to. Good luck and welcome to the club.

Fun you mention Volunteer.Gov I have been on the website and looking at those kinds of jobs. For right now I am looking to keep the home base in VA and travel extensively. Barb is due for a knee replacement in January and when she is ready to travel We will get on the road.

I do plan to hit at least one of the MOC rally's this year. Just not sure which one yet. Oh and did I mention that Barbara expects some long over due painting and floor finishing to be done. Having to go to work will no longer be an excuse.

Congratulations on your retirement. We retired May 1 of last year. We spent 11 weeks traveling last year and heading to Alaska for the summer this year. Plus, I can go hunting and fishing when I want. Hope you enjoy it as much as we have. Live large.
