Rack for Convection Oven

My Sylvania Microwave/Convection oven in my 2009 Montana 3605 RL did not come with a rach for convection cooking. Since the unit was 2 years old when we purchased I don't know if the previous owners just kept it or it really didn't come with one.

What are you Montana Owners using for rack when convection cooking? Need some suggestions.

Thanks, Judy

Ours came with a rack. It was hidden in a book in one of the cabinets. They did not tell us about it during our PDI and we didn't know to ask about it. Several weeks later as we were rooting through cabinetry we found it. We didn't miss it because we are NOT familiar with the convection cooking style and still favor the oven - something about old dogs and new tricks. But I hear if we ever get it figured out, we'll be glad we did.

The prior owners probably put it in a safe, out-of-the-way place. The place is so effective no one can find it.

I am pretty sure a replacement can be found online. Locate the model number then try a search.

Are you referring to the metal style round plate that you put things on to cook? If so they are readly available at walmart and most other kitchen stores. Teresa

Ours came with one also. It is a round metal pan with short metal legs. If you can't find it, then you should get one that stands a couple inches off the bottom. It needs the space under it for the heated air to circulate over, under, and around what ever you are cooking in the convection mode.
But remove it for microwaving.
Google the model number of your microwave along with a part description (pan, tray, etc) and you may well find where you can order an original one.

Thanks for the replies. Yes, I need the round rack that stands up off the round plate so air can circulate underneath. I have checked wal mart, Target and online. I am not having much luck. Maybe I'll be able to find one when we are somewhere that has a big kitchen store.

Ours came with a rack that looks like it's made from chrome wires. Sturdy and works fine.

Note to Art-N-Marge: Convection works great. Learn how to use it and you won't have to lay on the floor to light the standard oven anymore.

Since the goal is to get the pan off the floor of the oven so hot air will circulate under it, try putting a metal, cookie cooling rack under the pan on the bottom of the oven. It might work.

Walt & Lynn:

Hey that's a good idea. Hadn't thought of that.

Thanks, Judy
