I know the feeling you’re having with the way it tows. I still get a smile whenever I’m hooked up and getting ready to go somewhere.

Remember that it's back there.
We've had our 2955 for almost 6 years and I do not intend to ever go back to a tag trailer. It takes me less than 5 minutes to hitch up unless I've got help. Then it takes longer.
I've towed other peoples trailers in the recent past. That really highlighted the difference.

I have a short bed also. I decided on the TrailerSaver air ride hitch, they have a manual slide option which I got. The Superglide was the other option. I finally decided I wanted an air ride hitch and didn't mind the manual slide option for when I think I need it. I haven't measured the distance between the bed rails and the Monty, but it's over two fists, so it's probably 6" or 7". I'll measure it next time I hook up and I'll post pictures.

Sounds like you're fine on the bedrail to trailer clearance, but I was thinking of the truck cab to nose of trailer (front cap) on a tight turn. You have the manual slider though so you're fine. Some have said they don't think a slider is even necessary at all due to the contoured shape of the newer Montys nose caps.

Steve I picked my 2011 3400RL in Oct. 2010 pulled it home , Colo. Springs. I could not believe how much better it pulled over my 05 Open Road. Had to put it to bed for the winter but still check on it in storage every month. Will pull it in next week to get a recall taken care of. Will then put it away until the middle of Apr. Will need to get it ready for trip to Okla. first week in May.
Have many happy safe mild.

We've been extremely happy with ours and we're sure you will be too. I have the 5th airborn on a companion hitch. the trailer pulls like a 14 foot ski boat. I never fell it back there. Happy trails !

I know how you feel...I'm out at the yard every weekend petting the Monty and working on the mods I feel are necessary before we take our maiden trip on April 13th. I've modified and installed a 2 x 6v battery box with vent tubes; I'm putting in some custome brackets I made to hold 12v Marinco ConnectPro connectors to power my 12v air compressor and Flowjet Mascerator and I'll install the Steadyfast stabilizers. That should hold me for the 1st trip. But, what the heck, it's just a start. This is fun

While you are doing mods, seriously consider installing surge protection. An awful lot of damage can happen from bad campground power or a brownout or surge.

I agree, I got the external 50amp unit. Probably should have checked in with you folks to see what you have done in that department.
