Frame Flex Repaired

Well I just picked up the Monty this afternoon and now I have to get ready to leave on Saturday.

About a year ago or so I noticed that the veneer in the front closet that separates the closet from the washer/dryer compartment was getting all busted up, this was clue #1. Shortly after that while driving down the road and looking in the rear view mirror I could see that the pin box was holding steady but the front cap would go up and down several inches, clue #2. So after talking to a few people we decided to take it in to the dealer for possible frame flex.

The first thing they had to do was to determine how much flex there was (2 3/4") and send that info to Keystone before they could remove the front underside sheeting. After Keystone agreed to removed the sheeting they proceeded only to find several cracks on each side of the frame. Then they had to send that info on to Keystone to get authorization to do the work. Within a few days authorization was given and it was sent to the welder who had it for a day. It took a couple of days to put it back together and today I picked it up. Hopefully this will take care of it. Keystone picked up the tab but the dealer and welder had to follow Keystones guidelines on how to repair it.

While bringing it home I noticed very little movement in the front end as compared to what it was. So time will tell if the procedure will work.

Rich and Kathy,
Sure glad you got your rig back in time for the next trip.

That frame flex thing can be really scary.

Good luck,
Dennis and Mary Kay

Glad to hear Keystone took care of you, our 2955rl may be the next to be fixed? Do you have any idea where the cracks were or what Keystone had the welder do to make the fix.
