Bad shoulder

I found out today that I need a new left shoulder. I have scheduled it for 29 March 2010. Hopefully I will not have any more pain after the replacement.

I know the feeling I go in for ortho scopic real soon for my left sholder and some screws to hold down some tendons or what ever it is they are going to screw in my bone.
Good luck on your surgery, do the therapy or you will be waisting all that work.

Dick, glad you are getting it fixed, I hear it is not a rough surgery. Get healthy and enjoy that retirement.

I had my left shoulder replaced Aug 2008. January 2009 I was running up some stairs and tripped. They had to go back in and fix things May 2009 (3 surgeries).

Doing OK now. It does take some time to start feeling better, but it is worth it. You just can't take two stairs at a time anymore - even if you are in a hurry, and you have to force yourself to hang on to hand rails even if you don't think it's necessary.

Good luck.

If it's any consolation, I know a person that had both shoulders replaced. He plays softball all the time.

We'll be praying for your surgery.

We had an acquaintance that had the surgery and is happy he did.

I will echo about being diligent in doing the rehab. My father didn't stick to it and the outcome was not good, but he was in his 80's. Everybody I know that did the rehab had a good outcome. Best wishes.

Dick best of luck with the surgery and keep us informed! I may have to go through it myself and as everyone has told me-- keep that rehab going and don't stop it just because you think it is back to normal. They say if you do, you will regret it later! Best of luck again!

Good luck on your shoulder surgery. My son had shoulder surgery over a year ago at the VA hospital and so very glad he had it done. He had slipped on some rocks on a beach.
Best wishes for a speedy recovery.
