Since we bought our Montana a little over 3 years ago and with help from info on here, I have;
- added JT Strongarms using an added rear cross member
based on pictures and dimensions shown here,
- replaced my 50 amp slide circuit breaker to eliminate
the problem with my slides stopping,
- replaced my Missions (before I had a failure) with
Michelin XPS. Tried for some reimbursment from
Tireco, but no luck,
- added a 5th Airborne pin box,
- added a swivel to my table to make access to the
rear while the slides are in much much easier.
Again great pictures and info here.,
- just finished adding plastic water heater drain
pans under my recliners to make moving them
to/from storage position much much easier, again
great pictures and info.
Just keeps getting better and better.
Looking for my next project now. Thinking I will make a rear receiver hitch. I can use the existing cross member for my JTs, add another in front of that, and weld on a receiver tube, again based on some pictures posted here. Found those tubes available from 6" to 48" off the internet. DW thinks we need to tow my small utility trailer with a golf cart on it now.

Further evidence that the MOC forum is addictive and definitely impacts the wallet (but the impact is far less than if we had to pay a dealer to do the mods)!! It is great being able to see what others have done and even greater being able to selectively decide on the mods that we want to use on our rigs. With a new rig coming in a couple of weeks, I now have a clean slate of to-do's (other than installing the EMS and Autoformer from the existing rig into the new one). Actually, our first mod is going to be changing out the bedroom and bathroom doors in the rig and staining them in some shade of ebony to match the rigs Blackthorn interior.

Bill, I hope you realize it's a conspiracy... You get so much money and labor invested in the rig there's no way you want to trade it for some other brand and go through it all again. Keystone should be paying us for customer retention.

Here is the discussion about easily moving the recliners. The first part is about putting furniture sliders under them. The water heater pan idea shows up on page 4.

Its fun to have the golf cart. Just make sure you have a strong hitch.

If you haven't bought the golf cart yet, here is one that is 300-350 lbs and you can put on a front hitch of your TV and eliminate the need to double tow. It weighs about 1/2 of what a typical golf cart weighs and still holds 4 persons. There is an electric (350 lbs) and a gas version (300 lbs).

It still costs about the price of a low end golf cart, but provides a compact size and weight and transportability.
