Crazy Light Bulbs
The light bulb on our hanging galley bulb died. Sooo I attempted to change it with a #1076 purchased from an auto store. It would not fit into the socket. The Montana dealer here in San Antonio said they have had this problem also. The burnt bulb and the replacement one were both made in CHINA. The only fix is to get a bulb from Keystone.
I really like products from China. NOT!

are you sure the old one is a 1076? The bases should be the same, number for number.

I agree with Ozz. I don't think that you have the right bulb.

Both the dead bulb and the bulb taken from a new 3400 have the 1076 #. The bulb purchased from a local auto store has 1076 on it and does not fit in the socket. They all have made in china on the base.

Have you measured the bulbs to see what the difference is?

Base should be 15mm diameter. Also, the lugs on the sides are not the same height from base, (Just in case you did not notice).

I tried the 1004 bulbs and they are good. The brillance of the bulb appears to be the same as the 1076 but has a much lower amperage. Thanks Ken
