Death Valley Ca.

We are going to be in Death Valley Ca. On 4/1/05 Thru 4/4/05
not sure if it will be Furance Creek or Stove pipe wells rv park
it would be real nice to meet up with other Montys there
This will be the first time there for us (wife kids and Me)
we are beening told that the 100 year Bloom is going on out there because of all the rain that Calif has had. it should be really nice to see so many Live flowers in a place that the name starts with Death we are really looking forward to it and a Place called Scotty Castle not sure what is there but we will find out
Maybe we will see you there e-mail us for more details if going to be in the area

A good friend of ours (Ed DeRobertis) has been a Ranger at Scotty's Castle & the National Park Service there for about the last 10-12 years. If you see him, tell him Doug & Margee Hatton (in Davis) say "hello" and to give you the 50-cent tour.

Scotty's Castle was the highlight of the trip we took to Death Valley several years ago. Really interesting.

Wish I was going too but we'll be on the coast. Furnace Creek will be the major CG. Lot's of stuff going on down around there. Stovepipe Wells much less activity and smaller area for parking. Limited hookups. Up around Scotty's Castle is a small CG. Limited services but a great place for looking back down over the Valley. Besides SC being nearby there is also Uhebehe Crater(s). And lots of stuff to see. There are even some pictographs around the area. We found them while hiking one of the washes near the CG.... I can't remember the name.... I want to say Mesquite but don't remember for sure.

Prarriepoodle is staying near there and has taken at least one trip over to the park.... I think she may have taken a picture or two and perhaps she is sharing them with folks....?

Take your time and have a great time. It should be fantastic.

We stayed at Beatty this week on our maiden voyage. Nice campground at Burro Inn and good restaurant attached with good food. We drove over to Death Valley, only a 20 mile drive and went north one day and then south the next day. Flowers were beautiful, and will get them posted soon.
