Route 40
Would I40 south through the Bald Mountains to Asheville NC be a tough ride?or go farther up I81 to I26 an take it south instead to Asheville an then to Murtle Beach.Pulling a 34' 5er Thanks John R.

No need to drive the extra miles. Take I-40, but take it EAST. I-40 and any other US highway with an even number runs east & west. Odd numbers run north & south.

I try to avoid I81 as much as I can. Very heavy truck traffic and really dumb car drivers!
