Modem connect speed indication

I had to do a "repair" on windows xp on my system. Prior to the repair, when I connected dialup the icon in the tray recorded the connect speed, usually 33.6kbps or 28.8kbps.

After the repair, it shows 115.2Kbps every time. That's the port speed setting, not the connection speed.

Years ago I knew how to change that to indicate connect speed but darned if I can remember now. Can anyone help with this?

Thanks.
