Satellite connections

On our 2004, we have two coax connections on the outside (street side rear), one connection is in a covered flap with a telephone jack, and that works for connecting to cable. Am I safe to assume the other connection is for satellite? Neither is labeled so hoped I could gain from experience before I have to troubleshoot on the road. Also, does my model have an antenna booster? I've not stumbled across one yet. Thanks in advance.

Sat connection sounds right to me. On our 2002 , booster was at the antenna crank. 2005' the booster was combined with a 12volt wall receptical in a bedroom cabinet. Very small button and light.

The three places to look for the booster is near the antenna crank on the oldest models and either in a front bedroom closet or behind the bedroom TV. You'll find a 12v outlet there and if you use a light you'll find a tiny switch. Push the switch and a tiny light comes on indicating the booster is on.

The coax for the satellite needs to go directly from an outside connection to an inside connection. It should not go thru any switch or other intermediate device. Is there a coax connector wall plate in/near the television cabinet without anything connected to it, probably in the living room? If so, that is probably where you would connect the sat receiver box.

My 2007 model only has one outside coax connector. An internal coax cable from that goes to a dual coax connector wall plate in a cabinet below the living room TV, with a short coax jumper cable between the two coax wall plate connectors, then goes internally to the ant/amp switch. To use cable I left the jumper in place. But to use satellite I had to remove the short jumper cable and connect a slightly longer cable from the wall plate to my sat box to get that direct link. But sounds like yours is different from my slightly newer model.
