False zone temp of zero degrees reading for front AC unit
Hello Everyone!
My first post here and thought I would share an interesting problem that I have been troubleshooting for a few days.
I have a 2021 Montana 3855BR Legacy with the in-command system. This years model uses Coleman Mach air units. The problem I was having is that the front A/C unit will not turn on at all. If you select fan, auto, manual it thinks about coming on for a brief moment, then right back to off it goes. One interesting thing to note is that the zone temp is displaying 0 degrees.
I've read about others that have the zone temp showing as a dash. That is a whole different problem than mine. The other unit in the back of the coach displays 74 degrees and is working fine.
What I found to be the source of the problem is the little black zone (Room) temperature sensor that is in the wall of the room with the A/C unit. I unscrewed it and the wires were all crushed up. I straighten out the wires and checked the in-command display unit. The zone now displays the correct room temp. Once I get back on shore power I can test out to see if the A/C unit will come on. I'm thinking that it will due to it now having a correct ambient room temp.
I hope this information will be helpful to folks with A/C problems.
