Favorite spots in California Gold Country

What are some of your favorite places to visit in California Gold Country?? Restaurants, museums, parks, shops, places of historical significance or just about anything else you can think of. Thanks, M

Placerville, also known as Old Dry Diggins or Hangtown I lived there for 20 years. Boeger Winery is one of my favorite wineries.
Have the ribs at Poor Reds and try their signature Gold Cadillac.
Coloma, where James Marshall discovered gold that started the gold rush.
Apple Hill area.
It's only a 60 mile drive from Placerville to South Lake Tahoe. As you go over the summit, you get a breathtaking view of the Tahoe Basin.
Go up to the restaurant on the top floor of Harrahs Casino and look over he lake.
Take a paddle boat trip on the lake to Vikingsholm.

If you want to go to Sacramento, there is old town Sacramento, have lunch at Fanny Anns and sit by the bathrooms. I won't tell you why and spoil the surprise. There is a great railroad museum there. There is a monument in Old Sac where the pony express terminated.
