First, welcome to the forum and the Montana family. Two points of clarification. As Daryles said, even though off, you are still discharging the battery. If you put that switch to off and are not plugged in, you will come back to dead batteries. Leave the switch on and if you need to leave it somewhere not plugged in, either disconnect the ground wire to the battery or install a true disconnect. Second, the charge you get from the 7 pin connector is a trickle charge at best. If you need more battery while traveling, either add batteries, solar or DC-DC charging. Best of luck.
