Progressive Dynamics working, now to troubleshoot
My hard- mount 50 amp PD shut my system down in our 3400RL when I plugged in here in Tonopah, P-1 it says, P-1, correlates to E-1 as the previous code event.
Reverse polarity.
Checked the camp pedestal power supply, A-OK there.
So I shut all breakers off. Reset breaker at pole, cleared code.
One by one turned on power to individual circuits, happy happy happy until the entertainment center breaker turned on... Uh oh. Click click, P-1 it reads on the remote display. Ok we are getting somewhere now. I unplugged everything on the circuit, tried breaker... Uh oh. No joy. I pull the fireplace.. Think it is on that circuit, wanted to check it's wiring while I have some momentum, no joy with a breaker flip after reset.
So now I get to check j-box under desk slide, pull all outlets and check wires there.
Sucks to be me...

Would have thought that any rv issue would have shown itself at another campground before you got to tonopah. Could it be some kind of loose connection at the breaker panel or an insulation rub near there? Definitely sucks to be you right now....or you could think of this as a test event to earn your master rating in rv ownership...only the bravest and most mentally stable make it...all others sell their rv or go bonkers. If you can't figure it out, no one can.
Maybe a rodent caused problem?

It erupted into this from problems early on in Benson about a month ago, the power then was entertainment circuit, kept going off and on, I changed the breaker and all was good until now.. No wire problems at the breaker panel, or behind it, got to be downstream. But where...
First outlet first.. But who the heck knows how they wired it.. J-box then different outlets: unlikely, outlet to out? Possible
You can bet it was the cheapest, fastest way
Wish I could have seen how they did it at the factory.

Ozz,
From what I have heard, Progressive is very good with support. Maybe try calling them and asking for help. They may have some advice.

Actually it did its job, it is not part of the equation now, the problem is downstream from it.

So as I understand it things could have been a whole lot worse? At least you can get along fine with daily routines until you find the problem, it's just that you don't have any "entertainment" inside the rv.
As one person put it after power and internet went down in their home for quite a period that they got to spend some time with their family. Apparently "They seem like nice people."
Good luck, keep us posted.

Got to Love the Progressive EMS...maybe there is a pinched or rubbing wire in the slide causing a short. I have one for the surround sound speakers which kicks the whole unit out so I disconnected the speaker in question until I can pull the belly to locate exact area of concern.

Know from experience Progressive Industries support is excellent. Had a power issue that resulted in a pedestal fire. Called and left a msg with Progressive support Sunday night on a Memorial Day weekend and got an unexpected return call within the hour!! Impressive!! Talked to an extremely knowledgeable rep!!

Very strange it would pick up an issue after the EMS. The EMS is located in the wire prior to getting to the power distribution box and normally will only fault if there is a problem with the power coming into your trailer, not issues after the circuit box. my only guess is you have power on the neutral and it is back feeding thru the EMS back to the pedestal causing it to trip.
Someone please correct me if my thinking of this is wrong.

It puzzled me as well, after the circuit box problems, I think I will take the good advice of checking with the PD folks, getting tired of pulling outlets

They told me what I already knew and tried.
But.. I found the problem.
The fine Amish Craftsmen must have been all confined to the wood shop and the town drunk tasked with doing the wiring.. On Friday afternoon.
More and yummy pictures later, off to the electrical supply store.
Hey, what main power panels does everyone have now?
I have the Iota, can't even Google a response from their products

These kind of problems are such downers ... If I replace something and a problem comes up ... it is the first thing I replace again.

First, thanks Dick, but no info on their main panel boxes; guess they don't make them anymore
Second, pulled all the outlet boxes on that circuit (5)
Found on the last one (naturally) poorly stripped cable sheathing had nicked the line voltage wire (hot wire-Black) causing a tiny arc to ground. Great device that protection device I hard wired in, it actually detects not only incoming power, but power down line inside your coach. Good to know.
But hard to find :-)
This morning I am changing out all 5 to residential outlets and 'winged' wall boxes.
I will be able to get the fireplace back in, chest freezer back where it belongs in the corner and set up the leather working bench table, got orders already here in Tonopah, thought I would share this info to my MOC pals

Good detective work Ozz. Glad you found it. I have never been a fan of these outlet/switches they use in our rigs. Jim

This is why I love this forum, I can learn something new, every day! I never would have imagined it could detect a fault after the device.

I knew you'd discover what the problem was & fix it.
