New Small Generator at CW
First - I have no connection with CW nor experience with this generator.
I got an advertisement email earlier today from CW -- they have a new line of inverter class generators they are handling. Appear to be about 1/3 cheaper than the Hondas. Those who dry-camp a lot may want to take a look at them.
As I said above, no connection with CW, just an FYI for those who might want to take a look.

If you are talking about the Honeywell HW2000i, yes, it is $600 vs $900 for the Honda eu2000i. But, with 70dB at full load, it is a little over twice as loud as the Honda at 58dB. I believe that a 10dB increase equates to double the perceived loudness, if I am not mistaken.
Another downside is that there seems to be no provision to link two units in parallel, like the Honda's can.
In the HW's favor is the fact that it is rated at 2000w continuous, over the Honda's 1600w continuous.

70 db is very loud. it's more than double. It's typically exponential, so around 100 times for every 10, but not every 10db goes up 100 times.
If you are not concerned about noise, then the Honeywell is decent, but with generators becoming so popular there are many other inexpensive brands that provide even more power that have popped up recently. The attraction to Hondas are the quiet, the "name", the ecothrottle and the companion capability. Otherwise they are pricey but finally coming down.

An increase of 10 dB is an increase in the sound pressure by a factor of about 3.
That means for this generator compared to the Honda, in very general terms, of going from the sound of a moderate conversation at 3 feet to the sound of a car about 30 feet away (less with the newer cars, and a lot closer with the hybrids).

I saw the new Honda 3000i in CW a couple days ago. Half the size (and weight? and fuel capacity?). Did not get a chance to talk to any of the sales people about it - happy with my Kipor 3000 - but it sure did turn my head. Same outlets on the front as the older larger units...
$1,999, though...

Thanks to all for the great information above. Noise is something that we all should be aware of when using a generator and trying to be a good neighbor to our fellow campers!!
As I mentioned in my first post -- I had just seen the ad in the email flyer. No information was provided with it. Now that said, it does surprise me that CW would have something that noisey for sale given their leaning towards campers. ????? Puzzling for sure.
Again, Thanks !!

I ran into a thead on another forum, where some guys were finding the Honeywell 2000 at some Home Depot stores for $299 as recently as this July. At that price, I might be tempted (if I didn't already have twin Honda 2000's), but, at $600 at CW I would not consider it.

This is one persons review of the Honeywell Generator.
My new Honeywell portable generator HW2000i arrived yesterday. I added oil and fuel and started it to run for a while to check it out. It was terrible to start. It must be pumped to prime. I started by giving it 20 pumps, choked it halfway, and the pulled the starter cord ten times- nothing. Another 10 pumps and ten pulls - nothing. I did this to sixty pumps and it finally started at 6 pulls.
And it is noisy! I must be spoiled by my old one. The literature says it runs at 62 decibels of noise. Don't believe it. And there is a continuous high pitched ringing sound in the background. I don't think I am going to be comfortable running this in a campground.
Anyone want an almost new generator? Only run one time.
