Having had both my self and we really liked that 05 F-350 V-10.The diesel is better across the board for what we tow.

People do get scared off by the price of diesel at the pump but I explain the mileage difference, to those who will listen, and they then realize that diesel is still cheaper per mile than gas. But I still find most people think diesel costs more per mile.
Anyway, I enjoy driving my diesel, especially when towing, but everyday driving too.
Still, it is getting expensive to drive but I don't think a Nisson Leaf will haul the Montana very far.

Our plans this summer cover 5754 miles with an estimated $3200 fuel tab. If you see me, note the tear in my eye but also notice the huge grin since I'm taking a chunk out of our bucket list. I've seen most of Europe and much of Southeast Asia, its time to visit places we haven't been to in the good ole USA with boots on the ground.

When we started fulltiming, diesel was cheaper than gas, at $1.209 per gallon. Gas was a nickel more, at $1.259. Now that truckers are allowed to charge a fuel surcharge instead of having to eat the rise in fuel prices, there's nobody out there to stand up and scream about it. And, also, diesel is now more expensive than gasoline. We little guys take it in the bootie once again.

We will find the money to go. We enjoy traveling too much. Our annual Yellowstone trip will cost about $375 more this year in fuel than last year. But that will 4k miles and 3 weeks away from home. Can't wait to hit the road again.
We did a total of 15k miles last year and 60 nights on the road. We were talking last weekend. Does not look like we will travel as much this year but schedule is just as much if not more of a factor than fuel cost.
I agree with RichFFA, I think fuel we be cheaper by the end of the summer. Fuel use is already down because of cost. If the cost stays high the economy will slow down even more.

Diesel in Colorado Springs is now at $4 a gallon. The truck is sitting a lot more nowadays. The upside to that is we have beautiful national forest and state parks all around us. We are just going to camp in state this year. Our 1st camping of the year is 30 miles from home ... we're very lucky to live where we do.

Jay & Betty (CORattler) -- found out exactly what you mean by camping closer -- we are planning on visiting my sister over Memorial Day weekend. Tried to get reservations in the two state parks close by and they are FULL. (Of course, right on the outskirts of Denver so to be expected -- can't get the wife to agree to traveling until the last minute -- this was a few 'minutes' earlier). Regardless, we are having to stay in a commercial campground that we were lucky enough to find with a cancellation. A lot of people around here also enjoying 'staycations' because of fuel prices.
Diesel here 4.09 at one station, 4.15 at another. On I-70 Junction City one station at 3.99, another at 4.19 and another at 4.15. The 3.99 is cash price, the others don't say specifically.

We have currently four trips planned this summer, luckily 3 of them are within 150 miles of our home so fuel (gas) for us while being an issue is a non-issue if it means spending time with friends and getting away from work. The fourth trip is to meet up with friends in Idaho for 4 days. I have spent time looking at the Transfer Flow in bed fuel tanks but can't seem to pull the trigger on buying one.

With my gas V-10 I can go 200 miles per tank, small tank on the cc sb. From Canada border to Chehalis, wa and the cost today is $100.00 at 3.99 per gallon. I was pleased to find that my Canada pension plan does give me cost of living increase even though my US SS doesn't. No matter what anyone may say the cost of living sure is increasing!
