Day night shades, a cleaning solution or two
This has been something that has bothered me for a while, not long ago, there was a thread about it,and there was a suggestion to use "distilled" water, or someething like that.
In the meantime, we have done these two things lately, and they seemed to have helped.
1.) Dusted the shades with my felt hat cleaner. Sometime along the way, somewhere, I purchased a hat brush, to clean my black felt hat. The Texas dust really shows on that black, and this soft brush works great on it. PLUS, it is long and not very wide. I found it worked great to rub off dust, sure, it went other places, OUCH, but, it got the shades looking better.
2.) We had a few small stains on one of the blinds, in the kitchen area, obviously, we splashed food on them somehow, got nice orange colored stains. Last week Al said, enough, I am gonna try this: Mixed up some Oxiclean, blotted it on, with another cloth behind the shade. He blotted several times, then sprayed lightly with some clean water and blotted more. Then put the shade UP till it dryed. Stains are gone, and I don't believe there are any water marks, at least I have not seen them yet.
So, there ya go, for whatever it is worth.
