Definition Of A Deisel

A different version of this was posted a while back...this one is generic:

Internal combustion sparkplugless engine invented by Adolph Diesel producing knock down, drag out, nasty butt thumpin, earth shakin, tree climbin, stump pullin, pull a house ofa it's foundation, mountain taming, thin air suckin, head buttin, chest beatin, mule kickin, junk yard dog bitin, gut bustin, muther luvin, oil burnin, slap yer pappy, kiss yo mama, "Mac Daddy" raw horsepower and torque. When you absolutely, positively, without question, no holes barred, got to have the best, the meanest, the baddest, the tow tamingest, put everything else to shame, engine in the world!!!? Accept no substitute.

Cool Beans! I likes that!
Bert, I remember when I first got mine, I loved to drive slow in town, roll down the windows, and listen to the bangin and clangen. Still like the sound.

YES! After 24 years driving gas vehicles for towing campers...last two using a Diesel, a grin when I start it up, completely agree!

This is my first diesel...and most everytime I get that turbo working it brings a smile to my face. It sounds like it means business.
Everyday use for work brings an average of 7 MPG over the gasser I had, and towing brings about 2 so far. I'm hoping for a wee bit of improvement yet as things break in.

The newest diesels don't much sound like diesels anymore.

What I like is that climb the hill by the wire feeling. It doesn't feel like a struggle. It feels like someone attached a wire to the grille and is pulling us on up the hill.

I just love the sound of my truck. I like to let the boost fall and then hammer the throttle. Poof I'm gone in a black cloud of smoke. It must be the little kid in me. Loud pipes save lives.

This is my 2nd and I LOVE my diesels. Shoulda got one back when I was plowing snow in northern NY. That old Ford gasser just couldn't stay away from the pumps. It was always thirsty. And the power of that gasser V8 pails to my diesels.
I love nothing better than the feeling of pulling the mountains and walking by them big rigs (and some gassers). Now that the price of diesel is back to less than the price gasoline where it belongs sure helps as well.

Bonnie is not one for power or speed when she is driving. As she was coming home from work yesterday in the Silverado, she got behind a slow poke on the road and decided to pass. When she punched it to get around, her back was pressed against the seat and she says she blew the guy off the road. I think I now have a speed demon on my hands. I hope I can keep her away from the truck pulls.

Dano was disappointed in the lack of sound of our new Dodge.
Well, let me say that I was disappointed, He was plain upset!
"What did you do to it?" he calmly yelled at our salesman. LOL !

Great post!

I second Noneck's response. This is my first Diesel, and I love it when I start the truck. I keep grinning and grinning. DW simply doesn't understand, is this possibly a man thing (ears tuned to Diesel sound) much like dogs to high-pitched tones. Maybe women don't hear the same thing we do from the truck????

I wouldn't trade my little old Volvo diesel (my first and last diesel, I suspect) for any gasser. If I were to do it over again, I'd want an auto transmission, though.

Talk about bumper stickers here is one I saw. "My starter makes more torque than your rice burner."

And then there is my personal favourite: "Real trucks don't have spark plugs".
