slide toppers
does anyone know how to adjust the slide toppers? when 2 of my slides go in the material is not centered on the tube, it is off to one side. the other 2 slides are OK. it wasn't like this last year, it seems like the more the slides go in and out the more it walks over to one side. thank you for any help you can give me.

There are at least one if not 2 screws in the channel attached to the exterior wall that the topper material is attached to. With the slide in, remove the screws and slide the material say 1/4" towards the direction needed. Try the in - out routine and tweek the adjustment as needed. Reinstall the screws as all they do is keep the material positioned. This assumes there is no issue with the slide movement itself as in being noticeably skewed.

Actually if you extend your slide out, unroll the cover that is left on the roller (working on left side of room),you will see a place to put a round screwdriver or pin into the roller to keep it from rewinding. Once you have it locked, pull the excess cover material down the front of the room, you can then pull the cover whichever way that needs to make it wind on straight. If you mark the roller with a pencil before moving the material you will know when it has moved enough.

Good advice from our learned members.
One thing more, it may be that the spring in the one side may need more torque applied to the spring, each side has a spring loaded mechanism. To apply more torque is a thrill-seeking adventure. Be careful when doing this, you might get it banged up a bit. With it rolled up, move the roll by hand until the small holes line up and you can get a cotter pin in it. Pin it, then remove that side a bit from the bracket. Then take the cotter pin out holding the roll firmly so it doesn't unwind, give it two more turns, I think it is CW right side CCW left side, cotter pin back in, then re-assemble. Many have 6-7 total turns to load them.
I just installed two slide covers, two more today.
You might look up the instructions for your awning.. Dometic, or other brand.
Good luck.

http://toughtopawnings.com/index.html They have a full detail on adjusting. I forgot to say in my other post that when you have the fabric looped off the roller that it will hang straight so you will be able to see how far to move it.
