Airbags for 2009 F250
I have a 2009 F250 with a Pullrite hitch. Can anyone tell me what airbags to install. My hitch prevents installation on frame side.
Thanks,
Mike

I only know of one kind of air bag and that is the Firestone bag. I'm sure there are others. I've got the Firestones on our F-250. Had them installed by Camping World.

Check out Timbrens, no air, no maintance and they do a great job, and a lot less expensive.

Mike,
Try this link: http://www.fsip.com/riderite/rrkit/? Once you find the Part# you need you can find some good prices on the web. My quick search results show you might need the 4160 kit. As others have stated, there are other options out there. I hope this helps.

I second the Timbrens. I am very happy with them after some 10,000 miles and still going.

There a couple makers of air bags, but the only one I can remember off the top of my bald head is Firestone (the brand we have). Air bags have one major advantage, they are tunable to the load.

I bought air bags versus Timbrens for what Toms says - dynamic flexibility and adjustability.
I wanted Airride because they were less expensive but they could not be fit with my Valley/Husky hitch installation. So I went with Firestone because they can be installed inside or outside the frame. I had this done at an aftermarket truck suspension shop. Cost was about $1,000 installed - including air bags, compressor and in-cab digital controller to allow adjustment and monitoring from the driver's seat. If you are mechanically inclined you can save about half the money by doing it yourself.
Pineranch - when you get it done I hope you post your story in the Additions/Modifications Forum.
On edit: Orv, I'm jealous. I went to Camping World in Escondido, CA to try and get the AirRide installed and when they told me it wouldn't work they suggested Firestone but they wouldn't do it. They recommended the Truck shop 40 miles farther towards San Diego which is where I had it done.
Whoops... It was called AirLift not Air Ride. I do use a dual in-cab digital controller from AirLift, but the bags themselves are Firestone RideRite.

Try looking into these. They worked well when hauling a trailer that was way over weight when I was racing, and hauling with a 28' class C mh. Airlift is the company, and they gave me many years of great service.

Art, mine was done in 2004 in Oregon. Maybe something has changed.

Maybe that's what I have, not Firestones. I "assumed" they were Firestones since that was the terminology I used with Camping World when I had them installed and they didn't correct me.
Sorry if I misled anyone.

I have a Pullrite hitch and the Airlift air bags on my 2008 F-250.
There are two part numbers, one with a 5th wheel hitch, and another without the hitch.
