Florida ..on the road

Many of you can not yet enjoy warm winters in lush Florida..It took 37 years for us to start our great adventure. Your time will come. Meanwhile share a part of our travel adventure. We are in the final stages of shutting down the stick house Helen is moving the last of the perishables out to the camper in the driveway. We will then shut off he water at the meter. Shut down the the unneeded ckt breakers. treat the traps and john's with pink stuff. Run 1/2 gallon through the washer. Set the thermostat to 49 degrees and move out to the 3400 for the night. Neighbors are briefed and golf carts, Corvettes and Harley's will be moving into our garage tomorrow. Departure time is 0800.Helen will lead in the Accord. Destination is Ft Chriswell RV park, Max Meadows. Va.Stay tunned.

Safe travels, you two. Ben said to say Hi. We finished with him today and are at Camp Keystone now waiting for them to check our frame and wall support system. Also got stickers and letter from Tredit for increased pressures and weights for the wheels I have. Looks like 614's this winter. Yeah!!!! Great trip so far, I hope Keystone comes through tomorrow as I am sure they will. Have a great winter Rich and Helen!!!! We will be wintering in San Antonio, not as warm as you guys, but our old stompimg grounds, 14 years anyway. Married there and youngest son born there. I retired there also. I'm sure many memories will come back this winter......

Congratulations! Keep safe and sane! Stay warm in the winter, cool in the summer, dry in the rain and grounded in strong winds. And regardless of the "saying" do NOT break a leg.... or break down, break away or break wind.

(If you need help with the Corvettes and Harleys being wound up every so often just let us MOCers know. I'm sure we can help.)

Rich, I am currently in sunny Saskatchewan seeing my newest grandson in Yorkton. This the is the 162 miles (Hwy 9) that I drove yesterday PM from the ND border to Yorkton. Can't see the 6 inch ruts very well.

We will be leaving N. MI on Mon, 26th and arrive in FL on Thu, 29th - same destination. We are trying I-65 this time for a change - much as we will miss the fun drive with our 3400 through downtown Cincinnati and Atlanta...

We will see you there. Good luck with your interview.

We are planning to head out on Tuesday the 27th. We will go down 35 to 64 to 77, as we stop in Charlotte to spend Halloween with our youngest grandkids. When we leave Charlotte we will drive down 77 to 95 to 4. We should arrive joyously on November 2nd or 3rd! See you in the sunshine!

We left sort of in time. During the departure pre check the TMP gave a low pressure warning on the left front camper tire. We had set the PSI only two days before. Anyhow found the nut on the valve stem loose??? Another who would a thunk...thing. Wonder what the life span of the valve stems are..and they are the good metal ones??? Day was gloomy and rainy and dismal. Spent most of driving through Wva plunging in and out of low clouds. Made good time though. Pulled into Ft Chriswell Rv park @ 5:30PM. Dinner at the flying J among the truckers. Next stop somewhere in South Carolina...

Rich, those metal valve stems should last forever like 10 to 15 years as this is what is used when they fill Ag/Industrial tires with liquid ballast. Sometimes that tire guys can be pretty rough and careless when installing or maybe it was bumped or the stem not tightened into poistion correctly, thus creating the slow leak. Metal is of way better quality than the rubber stems, especially when there is the centrifugal force of the valve stem sensors.

Ken..We are at Point South now we always stay here on the way down. The metal stem was loose in fact all of them were loose. We had the tires changed in Michigan when we had our axles bolt failure the first week of August but had no low pressure warnings since then. I tightened the leaking stem down real good and it held air all day today. We shall see?????

Had a good day today..Still gloomy but dry till we got about 10 miles from the campground. Lots of traffic heading south many plates from PA and and Ohio. Ft Chriswell C.G was pretty full but this one is not. It does appear that more snowbirds are going South than this time last year
Paid 2.499 to 2.539 for diesel thus far..about the same as last year.
